Mindfulness Through Movement. Yoga with Rin
October 28 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
A Day of the Dead/Fet Gede fundraising event!
The mindfulness through movement workshop is a 60 min all levels class that offers 10 min of grounding with a guided lesson in creating mindful breathing; the breathing practice taught is alternate nostril. The flow is 40 min in length and is gentle, primarily mat based, using mostly foundational poses that are held for around 1 min to create awareness of where the sensations from movement and breath are felt as the poses are held and how the individual’s body/mind is responding to the sensations as they arise. The class ends with a 10 min guided meditation that is focused on breath, body sensations and emotion recognition.
Each participant will receive a handout at the end of class, welcoming them to track positive experiences that arise in their lives or on their mat. Within the promotional materials participants will be asked to bring a journal and writing implementation to class with them as all participants are welcomed to sit in stillness/silence at the end of meditation/class and notate their experience privately. Participants can opt out of this practice if it does not feel good to them.
