Intro to Experiential Anatomy: Connective Tissue, Scar Tissue, and Yoga
June 2, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Connective tissues are the substances that bind us in to whole beings. They lay framework for our bones; provide the wrappings for nerves and muscles and swaddle tissues in to organs. Most importantly, all of the connective tissues in the body are a continuous substance.
With injury and surgery scar tissues will form, we actually want scar tissue to form. Unfortunately, scar tissue can have far reaching effects on the connective tissues of the body. Yoga has brilliant tools for minimizing detrimental outcomes.
Understanding the interplay between connective tissue and scar tissue is very useful for yoga teachers and practitioners.
This learning module will incorporate visual images, movement, kinesthetic experiences, Saran Wrap, rubber bands and a onesie. As Moshe Feldenkrais said “Learning can be fun, growth is painful.”
