|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 5:30 pm on of [month], repeating indefinitely

Fall is near, and with that comes one of the Healing Center’s largest events of the year – Day of the Dead / Fet Gede Celebration! Our event is on November 1st. Our Market opens at 5:30pm, with a ceremony to follow until 10:30 pm.

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death. While the holiday originated in Mexico, it is celebrated all over Latin America with colorful calaveras (skulls) and calacas (skeletons).

Fet Gede in Haiti is just such a past-honoring event. Known as the Festival of the Ancestors, Fet Gede (Fet = Festival, Gede = The Sacred Dead) is the Vodou equivalent of Mardi Gras, the Mexican Day of the Dead, and Halloween, all in one.
