New Orleans Healing Arts And Center for Shamanic Studies

Organizational Structure

New Orleans Healing Arts and Center for Shamanic Studies will be established as an Association. All members will be part of the Association, and as such will enjoy perks, including but not limited to:

• Cross-referrals
• Access to funding (which will allow practitioners to see low income clients on a sliding fee scale)
• Training by other practitioners in the Association
• Monthly meetings to discuss cases and provide support/suggestions to one another
• Shared advertising
• Discounts on services from other practitioners
• Discounts on retail products and services in the Center at Large
• Shared waiting room, restrooms, etc. for clients.
• Discounted use of the larger Street University classrooms, as well as the auditorium, for classes, seminars, retreats, etc.
• Synergistic effects of outreach efforts by the Center at Large

*Members who commit to the Association during the construction phase of the creation of the Center may be able to participate in the design of their space, as well.*

The expectations of members on the part of the Association may/will include:

• Attendance at monthly meetings
• Participation in decision making
• A "community member" approach to their involvement
• Willingness to work with others to maintain a cohesive, harmonious group
• Willingness to participate in the creation of, and to abide by, a unifying Code of Ethics
• Maintenance of adequate and appropriate malpractice insurance to cover their practice
• Willingness to see a percentage of disadvantaged clients on the Association sliding fee scale (which will be established and agreed upon by the group)

All members will operate as separate business entities (sole proprietorships, LLC's, etc.), and as such will be free to operate their business independently and at their own discretion, as long as they are in compliance with the Center Code of Ethics and Expectations.

Members are welcome to share a space with each other, but all persons providing services at the Center must be members of the Association.

Members will be screened for appropriateness and goodness of fit at the Center by the Association and the Center Director.

All members must be licensed and/or certified in their field(s) of practice, where such licenses/certifications exist. In fields of practice where licensure/certification are not available, practitioners will provide information as to their training process.
